Balloon Artist / Entrepreneur, Treb Heining, turned a basic skill and a daydream into a world-class industry. An entertaining speaker and showman, he blends experience and motivation with valuable, practical ideas.
Treb Heining appeared recently with David Letterman on CBS-TV’s Late Show. “This is the man who first had the idea of balloons at parties. He invented the party balloon!” said Letterman. And that’s very much the story.
A 15-year old Treb became a wizard at tying balloons. Who would have thought this was the beginning of what was to become an awesome career of art, fun and business. The remarkable balloon designs, world records and spectaculars that followed have thrilled audiences the world over. Name the media and it has televised, photographed, written or spoken about him and his breath-taking original concepts. He’s been aptly described as the “King of Balloons” and his work as a “photographer’s bonanza”.
Treb created balloon art for twenty years using latex balloons in varied sizes, outrageous quantities and often sculptures of unbelievable, artistic grandeur. That balloon art spawned what is now a burgeoning worldwide industry.
Highlight examples of his art form for once-in-a-lifetime events include: 3 official Guinness World Records; 8 super bowls; 2 Olympic Games; a World’s Fair’ 2 Presidential Inaugurations; 3 Republican National Conventions; 5 Academy awards shows; 60 shopping mall openings through the U.S., Constitutional Bicentennial Ceremonies in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia: Times Square New Year’s Eve special effects for the past 5 years; and over 2,000 corporate and celebrity parties. Treb is also proud of the fact that 3 United States presidents have lauded him on national television and President Reagan thanked him personally for his “American spirit”.
Along with his attributes of imagination, diligence and enthusiasm, Treb has a passion for hard work and upholding professional standards. He has a particular interest in inspiring young people with entrepreneurial possibilities. As Treb Heining puts it, “Got a dream? Got an idea? Don’t be afraid of failure. Don’t just think about it. Get out there and do it!”
